Fire Agate has been heat treated for the crackle. This bead is a very nice way to add a little something unexpected to an earthtoned piece - and, wonderfully, agate is a very satisfying stone because of its weight and the way it feels in the hand.

Fire Agate is actually Carnelian and a member of the Chalcedony family and a banded white, natural beige and browns, peaches, among some more rare colors. It is said to gently help one make transitions of any kind in a way that change is not as difficult or painful as could be without it; it is a comforting stone." Mined: Africa.
